These 2 1/2 and three-story semi-detached and attached
Anglo-American houses, composed of groups of three individual homes each,
and situated on 75th and 76th streets between 34th and 35th avenues, are
worth noting on several levels. They were designed to form a large unified
through block complex, mirroring themselves back to back, and sharing
a common alley way with equally charming rear garages and gardens.
The similar materials, dark tan brick, terra-cotta tiles, wood shutters,
and common shapes, like the double peaked gable roofs help create a
unified atmosphere. But it is their ample front yards that best helps give
these streets their special sense of peace and
tranquility.
