Usually developer's promotional
descriptions of their own work tend to be quite disconnected from the reality of
what they actually build. Except in this case. We are extremely grateful to Mr.
Henry Reinemann, a resident of this gem of a street, for providing us with
copies of the original sale brochure for the houses on this street.
Its description just about does justice to the reality, and it goes something
like this:
"Charm is instantaneous. It need not be analyzed to be
appreciated. Keats, the poet, must have had some such idea when he wrote 'A
Thing of Beauty is Forever'. Only the most foolish would try to rearrange
a beautiful natural scene. The artist does not try to improve it.
Neither does one offer criticism to true architectural
beauty.
Homestead Heath offers such an
environment - Olde English dwellings, quaint replicas of the massive home of
Olde England herself. The grouping of Olde English Dwellings gives one the
impression of visiting a fashionable London suburb - peaked irregular slate roof
- brick, stone and stucco - exposed timbers - winding broken flagstone walks,
green lawns, and rock terraces. Every detail, both exterior and interior
is strictly Olde English. A home in Homestead Heath will be a permanent
delight and win the enthusiastic admiration of your friends.
